The Albano Ballet Company was founded in 1971 by Joseph Albano, international ballet teacher, choreographer, performer, author and dance inventor for the sole purpose of exposing Connecticut to the finest quality in dance instruction.
Prior to this, Mr. "A" founded and directed The Hartford Ballet School and Company and the Hartford Modern Dance Theater, the high school dance major with Watkinson Purgatory School and the dance program at both Hartt College University of Hartford and Julius Hartt School of Music as well as The Hartford Conservatory of Dance, Music and Drama.
The Company is unique because it is guided by a director who has total as well as applied theatrical experience in all of the performing arts.
A background in classical ballet, modern dance, dance teaching, acting, directing and technical theater makes Mr. Albano and the Albano Ballet Company a natural for producing dancers and performances of the highest professional caliber.
The European philosophy of arts instruction is the "stamp" of the Albano Ballet.
"Joseph Albano......a choreographer of unusual range and imagination."
